Intro to Metal Clay
Project: Fine silver textured earrings (see video)
Students receive three to four hours of hands-on with metal clay. You will learn a little about the history and composition of metal clay. You will learn about how to use basic tools for working with metal clay. Students will learn how to roll it out to desired thickness, imprint textures, cut clay with templates, dry the clay, and refine it for torch firing. After you fire you pieces, you will learn how to finish the fine silver and bring it to a lustrous silver finish, complete with patina. Barbara will be happy to add the sterling ear wire and a bead if you like! (Scroll down to see photos from past classes)
All instruction, tools, supplies and clay are provided. The clay alone is a $45- 50 value. You will leave the class with a beautiful pair of fine silver earrings, and maybe a little extra clay to play with at home.
Class usually starts at 8:30 am and we should be finished up by 12:30
Metal Clay II
(Intro class is a prerequisite to all other classes)
Project: Multi-layer fine silver pendant

You will learn how to make a fold-over bail to add to the back of your pendant. (Scroll down to see photos from past classes)
